Bingo has long been a favorite game for people of all ages. And where it was once limited to traditional bingo halls for either purely entertainment purposes or fund-raising, it is now becoming hugely popular over the Internet as more and more people are heading online.

Bingo Rules

Bingo is played using 75 unique numbers. Each number is represented by a ball located in a large rotating container. When the container stops spinning, a number is removed and announced to all the bingo players in the hall who then check their bingo cards to see if the number called out exists on any of their cards. (Players typically play with many cards at once.) If the number called out appears on any of their cards, the player marks that number on the card. When a player manages to get five numbers in either a row, column or diagonally, he or she shouts "BINGO" and is declared the winner.

Ultimately each player's chances of winning depend on how many cards the player is using and the total number of cards issued to all the competitors in each game. For example, if a contestant is playing with 10 cards in a game where a total of 1000 cards were distributed, that player's odds of winning are 1 in 100.

Bingo Cards

To compete in bingo, each player must have at least one bingo card. Every bingo card contains five rows and five columns totaling 25 spaces. These columns are labeled from left to right with the letters: B, I, N, G, O. The one exception is the center space which is designated as ‘Free.' Every space on a card is assigned the following values:

Every space in column 'B' includes a number ranging from 1 - 15
Every space in column 'I' includes a number ranging from 16 - 30
Every space in column 'N' includes a number ranging from 31 - 45
Every space in column 'G' includes a number ranging from 46 - 60
Every space in column 'O' includes a number ranging from 61 - 75

Note: Each number appears only once on each card.
