Three New Jersey Casino Employees Suspected of Multi-Million Dollar Theft
Three former employees of the Tropicana Casino in Atlantic City were recently charged with stealing a list of over 20 high-roller players from the gaming facility. New Jersey prosecutors were reported as saying that the list carried a price tag of over $108 million because it featured personal info of the casino's most valued customers. All the suspects were employed by Tropicana three years ago.
The accused are 47-year-old John Conklin, ex-marketing vice president at the Tropicana Casino, 26-year-old Justin Litterelle, former one-time Tropicana marketing analyst, and 59-year-old James DiMarco. The suspects all started working for Las Vegas-based casino facilities right after leaving Tropicana.
Authorities reportedly said that all the suspects faced charges of theft by unlawful taking, computer theft as well as conspiracy. In case of conviction, they might spend as long as a decade in prison and pay a $150,000 fine. It was also explained that the high-roller player name list was supposed to serve as future leverage for its holders during employment negotiations with other casino establishments.
