Online casino 32Red has just released its final-year figures for 2009 which show an upturn in the company’s fortunes. The figures, reported at EGRMagazine.com, are great news for the company and the industry as a whole as it picks up from the recent slump that has been so devastating for such a prolonged period.
32Red suffered a very poor first half of the year and things were looking bleak for the online casino. But at end of year it was showing a figure of £12.8 million, just 1.6 percent lower than for 2008, where the figure was £13 million.
The online casino also saw positive results in its gross win. The second half of the year saw a rise of 18 percent compared to the first half, which had itself seen an 11 percent year-on-year fall. The total gross win for 2009 was £11.5 million, just 1.7 percent down on 2008 figures. Total revenues for the casino were also up 21 percent in the second half.
Ed Ware, the chief executive of 32Red, said that the fortunes of the company had been revived after it had sued William Hill for copyright infringement in August. He said it was “a significant factor in the improvement in 32red’s performance over the second half of the year
