1. Female Gamblers Sue Connecticut Casino over Insults in Spanish

A group of nine female casino players recently filed a lawsuit against Foxwoods Resort Casino in Connecticut alleging that they were insulted by two Spanish-speaking casino employees. According to the lawsuit, Rafael and Efrain Lnu had no idea that one of the women in the group was able to understand the lewd name-calling and insults addressing them in Spanish.

One of the women was reported as saying that they were suing the casino for $500,000 per plaintiff, an amount which they believed was fair taking into consideration the level of humiliation they endured.

However, despite their determination to make the casino pay for their suffering, the women are doubtful regarding their winning chances. Since Foxwoods is operated by the Mashantucket Pequot Indians and is located on tribal land, the casino's management claims it can only be sued in a tribal court. Paula Ray, 42, said that she did not believe they could win unless they went to a conventional court.
