Gaming Sharks Circling America’s Murky Waters
In the aftermath of U.S. President George Bush's of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act, the online gaming industry went into a tail spin. Rumors of additional gaming executives being arrested in particular, and the uncertainty surrounding the entire industry as a whole in general, caused the majority of operators to back off from American bettors. But not everyone's running scared.

Clearly loads of online casino operators jettisoned out of the US market. Yet a number of others, such as Poker Stars for instance, are sticking around and feeding on the thousands of abandoned players desperately seeking their next gambling fix. The legal ramifications have yet to surface, and with the recent mid-term election resulting in the Democrats conquering both Houses, no one knows yet for sure how things will play out.
One thing's for sure though; toying with the US government's new policy and its implications for daring casino operators is definitely a high-risk bet. But who better to challenge a new prohibition law than the gambling industry?
