U.S. Legislators Soon to Outlaw Online Casino Gaming
The U.S. Republican party recently pushed through a legislation aimed to curb the country's 15-billion-dollar casino industry. The government currently awaits President Bush's signature on the bill, which would prohibit U.S. banks and credit card companies to process online wagers. Following the development, London stocks of numerous Internet casino companies plummeted.
However, some online casino industry experts reportedly questioned the effectiveness of the new bill, citing numerous methods of bypassing the new legislation. Among such methods id the option of investing money to Internet casino accounts through third-party companies outside the U.S. Furthermore, opponents of the new legislation were reported as saying that banning online casinos would only expand the range of illegal online gambling activities.
